Who we are

CX Labs Limited ("we", "us") provides the Mission Pro app and the servers behind it. We decide how the personal data described here is used. Contact: [email protected]. CX Labs Limited, 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA, company no. 07600218.

What we collect

  • Your position and profile. When you are in a group, your position, callsign, team, role and any name or phone number you add are sent to our server so other members can see them. Location is used only with your permission.
  • What your group shares. Messages, map objects, routes, photos and alarms. In Mission and Observe groups the group's map data is encrypted by the app before it reaches us. Chat, positions, alarms and photos in Open groups are protected in transit but are readable by our server, because they are not end-to-end encrypted.
  • Your account (optional). Signing in uses your email address, handled by our sign-in provider Stytch. You need an account for cloud backups and to use your plan on other devices. You can buy a plan without one.
  • Your plan. Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play. Our subscription provider RevenueCat receives an account or device identifier and your plan status. We never see your card details.
  • GPS trackers. If you add a tracker, we receive its IMEI number, positions, battery and status, and the callsign, name or phone number you give it.
  • Notifications. Our push provider OneSignal receives a device identifier, the sender's callsign and the notification text, including alarm text and geofence locations.
  • Crash reports. Sentry receives crash and performance reports with device details, app version, your callsign, name and group identifiers, and your IP address. They do not include your precise position. You can switch them off in Setup.
  • Maps and search. Map providers, routing, address search and elevation services see the map area, route points or text you request, and your IP address.
  • Technical logs. Our servers keep logs that can contain identifiers such as device IDs, group IDs and IP addresses.

We use this to run the app, keep it secure, take payment through the stores, send notifications you have allowed and fix faults. We rely on contract (providing the app), consent (location, notifications) and our legitimate interest in security and reliability.

Who sees your data

Other members of your groups see what you share with them. Our service providers (Stytch, RevenueCat, OneSignal, Sentry, our cloud storage and hosting providers, and the map services above) process data for us. Some are outside the UK; we use providers with appropriate safeguards. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

  • Last known position and group details: kept on our server so members can see you, and not kept as a history. They remain until cleared, so ask us if you want them removed.
  • Messages and map objects for members who are offline: held until delivered. Positions held for members who are tracking you expire after 24 hours.
  • Group map data and files: kept while the group exists.
  • Photos you send to a group: deleted after 6 hours.
  • Cloud backups: encrypted, and kept for the period of your plan (30, 90 or 365 days) or until you delete them or your account.
  • Trackers: the latest report for each tracker is kept until the tracker is removed or you ask us to delete it.
  • Crash reports: kept by Sentry under its own retention.
  • Logs: kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.

Security

Connections to our servers use TLS. Cloud backups are encrypted, but with a key derived from your account, so they are not end-to-end encrypted. You can protect local exports with a PIN. Data stored on your device relies on your device's own security. On a local network, devices that share an encryption key exchange encrypted data. No system is perfectly secure, so keep anything that must stay secret off the shared map.

Your choices and rights

In the app you can hide your location (an SOS alarm still sends your real position), leave a group, switch crash reports off and delete your account in Setup → Subscription → Your Plan → Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your cloud backups and your subscription record. It does not remove data held for your groups or trackers, so email us to have that removed too.

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct, delete or export your data, restrict or object to its use, and withdraw consent. Email [email protected] and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

We will update this page and its date when something changes, and tell you in the app or by email if the change matters to you.
