Work offline
Download maps before you lose signal, share an offline area with the group and use a local network.
- A Wi-Fi or mobile connection while you download
Download a map for yourself
Draw the area#
Draw a polygon, circle or line around the area you need.
Open the Offline map section#
Open the object and find Offline map.

Choose the zoom level and download#
Move the zoom slider, tap Get stats to see the size, then tap Make offline map.
Share an area with the group
Set the group's offline area#
Owners open Group settings and set an Offline area. Members see Offline maps available with Download and Not now. On Wi-Fi or 5G the download starts by itself.

Use a country map
Download a country file#
In Setup, open Selected Map, choose an offline region and tap Download.
Share positions without internet
Switch to a local network#
In Setup, turn on Advanced Options. Under NETWORK, set Communication Mode to Local Network / VPN. Devices on the same network now share positions directly.
Features that need the server, such as invite links and 24-hour tracking, need an internet connection.
